Team Alignment…

…is essential. Nothing is made by one person. No one has the responsibility completely on their shoulders. Success comes from the free flow of ideas.

In any role, I foster a fearless, creative product environment that leads to alignment. We each have talents, interests and opinions that will help us get to a shared goal. I bring these goals to the surface through the same window of value that engages teammates without making it personal. That same alignment we achieve internally flows directly into brand promise, endowing our products with great integrity.

When we pick up a product, who are we? In my focus on toys and games, player stands apart for me: we play roles in our lives, and those roles need solutions. “Player” solutions are about immersion, distraction, mastery, and connection – the sources of joy a player seeks.

I engage my teams in strengthening the player relationship – the reasons they have to immerse themselves in the world that we are building for them. Immersion ends up being the destination for any product, whether it is a game, toy, or interface.

And so it is this question I pose every day:
As the user, what role am I playing, and what am I hoping to get out of this experience?
